Delete your Detectives Health account and data
Detectives Health (detectiveshealth.org) is an educational laboratory-results platform operated in the United Kingdom. This page explains how to permanently delete your account and the information associated with it. You do not need to be signed in to read these instructions.
Option 1 — Delete it yourself (fastest)
- Sign in to your account.
- Open Settings.
- Scroll to Delete account.
- Type
DELETEto confirm. - Select Yes, delete everything.
Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. Any active subscription is cancelled as part of the same action.
Option 2 — Request deletion if you cannot sign in
Email privacy@detectiveshealth.org from the email address registered to the account, with the subject “Account deletion request”.
We verify that the request comes from the account holder before deleting anything. We may need to confirm ownership of the registered email address. We cannot delete an account on the request of a third party, and we will never confirm publicly whether a given email address has an account.
What is deleted
- Your sign-in account and authentication records
- Your profile and personalisation settings
- Uploaded laboratory report files (PDFs and images)
- Laboratory values you entered or that were transcribed from your reports
- Educational reports and interpretations generated for you
- Submissions awaiting or under professional review
- Saved tracker entries and history
- Subscription and usage records held in our own database
- Beta programme participation records linked to your account
Information you stored only in your browser (for example your region or onboarding preferences) can be cleared at any time from Settings, or by clearing site data in your browser.
What may be retained
- Payment and invoice records held by our payment processor, Stripe, where UK law requires them to be kept for accounting and tax purposes.
- Security and audit records of privileged system actions. These are kept to protect the platform and are minimised so they do not contain your laboratory results.
- Encrypted infrastructure backups, which are overwritten on our hosting provider's routine cycle.
- Correspondence you send us by email, kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry.
We do not publish a fixed retention period for backups where we have not verified the provider's cycle. Where a legal retention period applies, it is the one required by UK accounting and tax law.
Deleting a single report
Deleting an individual submission without closing your account is not yet available in the interface. If you want one specific report removed, email privacy@detectiveshealth.org from your registered address and we will remove it after verifying the request.
